Maria Camahort has years of experience teaching guitar, chamber music, ensemble playing, analysis and improvisation. She has taught all kind of students, from children from 4 years old to University degree.
While living in Spain, Maria Camahort trained and became teacher at IEM (Institute of Music Education Emilio Molina). She collaborated with IEM in the elaboration of Music Theory books for the Conservatori Elemental del Liceu (Barcelona). She also gained experience teaching guitar, guitar ensemble, chamber music and youth string orchestra in Barcelona.
In London, she taught guitar in various outstanding primary and secondary school, as well as music specialized centres as it is the case of Colourstrings Music School, Dulwich College or City University. As part of her Guildhall Artists Fellowship, she organized Analysis and Classical Improvisation workshops for the Junior Guildhall guitar students, with the help of David Dolan, Head of Creative Performance and Classical Improvisation at GSMD. Since then, she organises Music Improvisation workshops in UK, Spain and overseas.
From 2017 to 2020, she taught at Conservatori Professional del Liceu (theory, ensemble, guitar and chamber music lessons). Currently she teaches at Badalona Conservatoire (guitar, accompaniment and improvisation lessons) and at Can Roig i Torres Music School (music theory teacher). She is also teacher and coordinator for the IEM Methodology training courses in Catalonia.
